"The River Dragon
Team"
Author Diane
Carr
has always felt a connection with dragons and loves to write fantasy for
children. She co-authored "Summer Storm" and "Camp Daybreak", which are
Space Coast Writer's Guild chapter books for kids. She has written several
magazine articles and is currently working on other stories for children
including a sequel to River Dragon. Diane lives in Merritt Island, Florida
with her unique and wonderfully blended family that includes Fred, Meagan, Kira, Nick, Nicky &
Zero the "horse" puppies, and the two hamsters, Oreo & Ziggy.
Co-author
Kira Earley
is Diane's
12-year old daughter, and she wrote the ending to River Dragon while Diane
was in the backyard throwing the ball for Nicky & Boofer. Kira loves to
create her own stories and picture books, and spends much of her free time
reading and playing with her pet hamster, Oreo. Kira's passion is horseback
riding and jumping, and she hopes to teach riding someday.

Illustrator
John Goldacker
has been a
Merritt Island
resident for much of the past 30 years, and has been an artist nearly as
long as he could hold a pencil. "Java" John has designed CD covers for many
Florida folk musicians, has created T-shirt designs for the Annual South
Florida Folk Festival (2000-03) & Cocoa Village Jazz Fest (1995-96), and
loves drawing portraits & logos. John's main inspiration for illustrating
this children's book is his 9 year old son Dylan.
